Which book’s world would be the absolute worst to live in?

First, I’m going to assume we’re talking about fiction here. Even still, there are so many, so many. Others have mentioned some here. Hunger Games, The Road, any zombie book, or post-apocalyptic novel. I’ll go with Alchemised by SenLinYu. A world at war with people who have special abilities, like creating fire, healing, or resurrecting the dead.

A world at war, where everyday life is harsh and everyone is at risk (at least the regions of this world that are talked about).

The author does not shy away from gore or despair. Chapter after chapter. How characters keep going, I don’t know. I admire their strength and endurance but would probably have preferred death in that world, if there weren’t a chance I’d be made into a living cadaver.

Yet it was a good read. You want the main character to succeed. You care about what she’s going through.

Long, but cleverly written.
